the Weekend Ahead
1/18/08
Giants @ Packers
A Super Bowl birth is on the line in what is turning into a good (Favre and Green Bay) against evil (the city slickers from New York). Temperatures are supposed to be ridiculously cold and Manning's handling of the ball will be telling.
Chargers @ Perfection
The best team on the face of the earth in any sport during any time period (with the best coach of all time and the best person on earth since Christ at QB) will host someone on Sunday for the AFC title game. I think its San Diego, but I'm not sure it really matters. Assuming Tomlinson and Rivers can put aside injuries and get up for the game I suppose stranger things have happened. Not many, but stranger I suppose
Marquette @ Uconn
After the turd Uconn dropped last night confidence cannot be high, although the confidence gained from losing to Georgetown (that's right from losing) did not help. How about some desperation? Uconn loses and they are staring another non NCAA campaign in the face...Other than that I will keep my eye on some late night tennis down under (Andy lost today, man he is looking like a waste of talent)...some George Lopez style fun at the Bob Hope...and another banner getting raised to the Garden rafters on Thursday when the Rangers lift the # 2 jersey of Connecticut's own Brian Leetch -- one of the best defenseman ever to play the game
