MLB Preview

3/31/08

Check out the prez last night -- don't think Obama is going to be bringing cheddar like that...I might take W over Moyer at this point? Sure the war wasn't a great move, but how about that motion?

I'm not going into baseball full throttle, I'm not getting all amped up for five fantasy league teams (I don't dig on baseball like that)...but it is the start of the season after all (and i know that most of my loyal readership -- likely 5 of the 7 kind souls -- really get jazzed for the season) so I must celebrate the holiday that is opening day. Below is how I season 2008 playing out over the next six months.

Hot Stove Questions and some Thoughts...how many Sox games will Sonny of Santa Monica not see any of?...how many of the 162 of the Yanks will my Dad miss?...(I think you can count both combined on one hand)...I already find Joe Girardi kind of irritating (not Billy Wagner annoying, but kind of)...will Julio Franco get a crack with someone at the age of 50?...what is the over under on how many ding dongs Santana gives up in Philly?...will Mase32 cry all year or will Abreu produce?...has another season in the NL given Charlie Manuel the gusto to properly manage a double switch?...

In the Big Apple, the closing of the baseball monument that is Yankee Stadium and the condemning of the sh#thole they call Shea, will make for a very special and memorable year.

Play Ball!

Utley - NL MVP to complete the Phillies 3-peat in that category. Mets win the NL East division but lose in 6 to the wildcard Phillies in the second round (Santana goes 10-17 on the season, Willie finally gets the ax) Wes Helms is so bad that he wouldn't even make my "All-Helms" team.
