Roundup -- Quite a weekend
6/9/08
Pictures and linked stories to the big events of the weekend. I was fortunate enough to see the USA v Argentina game..it was pretty warm, not quite as sweltering as Billy Wagner's sweet meltdown in San Diego.
The week ahead is huge as well, the Euro games continue and today kicks off US Open Week. Enjoy it while we can, in a couple of weeks it will be strictly baseball for a while. Not that there is anything wrong with it -- especially considering the way the Phils are playing...The Celts took firm control of the NBA Finals last night by holding off a late surge from Kobe and LA. The Celts now head out West really only needing to go 1 for 3. as they just seem to have more options as this point. Leon Powe with 21, oh my!
Games 3 and 4 are musts for Los Angeles, Globe coverage

Adam Eaton is throwing well for Christ sake...What could be finer? post musingThe USMNT ended its version of hell week with its best effort in a long time. The US drew 0-0 with the top rated team in the world in front of a sell out crown at Giants Stadium. The 80,000 in attendance were treated to some very entertaining play, more so than the final would indicate. Now the WC qualifying begins...

A couple of dandy's this afternoon as well as Group C gets underway....Holland v Italy to follow Romania and FranceI guess this happens every year...I get all giddy for Federer in hopes that he will at long last take home the French. Then the final comes and Nadal slaps the sh$t out of him. Fed will likely get his revenge at Wimbledon and in Flushing, but in Paris -- Rafa is king
