Everythings gonna be Aight
1/2/09
Uconn has landed another recruit for next year's class and he is not a five star All-American (admittedly not even close to that) -- so the word in Husky Nation is that the sky is falling and we are all doomed. Figure I would take this opportunity to look at what the crew should look like next year. This might settle some of you down a bit -- so you can get back to complaining about the under performing (albeit top 5) current squad.
With AJ Price, Jeff Adrien and Craig Austrie leaving after this season and Hasheem Thabeet very likely joining them, things are going to be fluid.
Who's back and what class they will be in (for 2009/2010):
Backcourt
- 6-1, So, Kemba Walker
- 6-4, Sr, Jerome Dyson
- 6-4, Jr, Donnell Beverly
- 6-4, So, Scottie Haralson
- 6-9, Sr, Stanley Robinson
- 7-0, Sr, Jonathan Mandeldove
- 6-9, Sr, Gavin Edwards
- 7-1, Jr, Charles Okwandu
- 6-9, Fr, Alex Oriakhi (the 2nd highest rated C in the 2009 class, big kid -- already weighs 245)
- 6-7, Fr, Jamal Coombs-McDaniel (top 70 recruit, long wing player, teammate of Oriakhi's at the Tilton School, both committed over two years ago)
- 6-5, Fr, Jamal Tice (big two guard playing at Mt Zion, unranked late bloomer, seemingly out of left field -- think Donnell Beverly, Patrick Sellers sees something in the kid)
- 6-10, Fr, Ater Majok (3rd ranked power forward in class of 2008, from Australia will likely not clear the NCAA blockinghouse this season, will be a 3 or 4 -- has great driving and shooting ability for a kid his size)
