Celts join Sox and Pats as recent world champions, 131-92
The Celtics leave little doubt as they capture their 17th NBA title and first in 22 years...Gone are the simple days of Bird twirling a towel in short shorts -- long gone (post game -- really KG?? -- what a dope), but Boston is back on top of the basketball world. Paul Pierce led the Celts in all facets of the game, although every non C's fan in the world is tired of his antics, you must appreciate a guy weathering all of the lows he has and winning with the club who drafted him 10 years ago. Two things that I can be happy about today (aside from the NBA season being over!!!!!!!!) are Doc Rivers, an absolute gem of a man, winning the big one and most of all for the Candy Man winning his first title and adding to a resume that one day should land him down the road in Springfield. Allen, who had 26 last night capping a very nice stretch over the last 3 weeks, became the fourth UConn player to win an NBA title, joining Richard Hamilton, Scott Burrell and Travis Knight and the second to actually play an important role. Adding to his rep as one of the great long range shooters in NBA history, Ray, tied a record for three-pointers in a Finals game with seven.

yeah he Rusty LaRue and some Jordan (?) fellow won the title in the summer of 1998.
Can you get that picture off there yet? I think it's been long enough. Maybe you can replace it with a shot of Big Baby's shirtless fatbody at the parade...
Scotty Burrell won a title?
